Do you offer samples of your garden stones and pebbles?
Yes! You can order a sample of our garden pebbles or cobbles to check their size, colour, and texture before committing to a larger order. Each sample weighs roughly 1kg and gives you a clear idea of the appearance once laid in your garden or driveway. We also offer 3FOR1 so you can grab 3 samples for the price of one.
Are the product colours on the website accurate?
We photograph our pebbles and cobbles in natural light for accuracy, but colours can vary slightly as they are natural materials. Photos taken when stones are wet may look darker or more vibrant than when dry.
To be sure of the shade and texture, we recommend ordering a sample first.
How many kilograms are in each bag?
Our decorative stones and garden pebbles come in convenient 20kg bags for easy handling. For larger landscaping projects, we also offer bulk bags (tonne or jumbo bags) that contain approximately 850–1000kg depending on the stone type.

As a guide: • 20–40mm pebbles – 80–100kg per m² (50mm depth) • 40–80mm cobbles – 100–120kg per m² (60–70mm depth)
Do the pebbles or cobbles need to be washed before use?
No — our stones arrive clean and ready to use. Occasionally they may have a light dust coating from transport, which is completely normal.
If you’d like them to appear more vibrant, give them a quick rinse with a hose before laying. Rainfall will naturally keep them fresh over time.
What’s the difference between pebbles and cobbles?
Pebbles are typically smaller (10–50mm) and smoother, making them ideal for borders, planters, and pathways. Cobbles are larger (50–150mm), creating bold garden features, edging, or water displays.
Both are natural stones shaped by water over time or tumbled — pebbles are smaller cobbles, but they both give decorative look.
Will pebbles and cobbles stop weeds from growing?
They help a lot! For best results, use a weed membrane underneath before laying your stones. This blocks sunlight and prevents most weeds from sprouting.
We recommend a 40–50mm layer of pebbles or cobbles on top of the fabric. Any small weeds that appear will be easy to remove by hand.

Yes, you can lay cobbles or pebbles directly on soil, but the results last much longer with proper preparation:
1. Clear the area of grass and weeds. 2. Compact the soil using a tamper or roller. 3. Add a layer of landscape fabric or weed membrane to prevent regrowth. 4. For walkways or driveways, lay a thin layer of sand or fine gravel before spreading your pebbles or cobbles evenly.
This method keeps your surface stable, drains well, and prevents sinking or shifting over time.
Can I mix pebbles and cobbles together?
Absolutely — combining pebbles and cobbles is a popular landscaping design trick! Use larger cobbles as a border or focal point, and smaller pebbles to fill gaps or pathways.
Mixing textures adds depth and contrast to garden beds, water features, and patios. Just make sure to choose similar colour tones (for example, grey cobbles with silver pebbles) for a more natural, cohesive look.
How do I clean white pebbles or decorative stones in the garden?
Over time, white pebbles can lose their brightness due to algae or dirt. To restore them:
1. Remove the pebbles and rinse them in a bucket with warm water and mild detergent. 2. For deeper cleaning, soak them in a solution of one part white vinegar to three parts water for 30 minutes. 3. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry before relaying.

Do I need a weed membrane under pebbles or cobbles?
Yes — we strongly recommend laying a weed membrane (also called landscape fabric) before adding pebbles, cobbles, or gravel. It prevents weed growth, improves drainage, and keeps your stones cleaner for longer.
Here’s how to do it properly: 1. Clear and level the ground. 2. Roll out the weed membrane and secure it with fixing pegs. 3. Overlap the edges by at least 10cm to block gaps. 4. Cut small crosses where plants or features will go. 5. Spread your pebbles or cobbles evenly on top.
