Wondering how much stone you need?

That's our most-asked question — and our free gravel calculator answers it in seconds. Pop in your length, width and depth and it converts them into kilograms and 20 kg bags for every pebble and gravel we stock.

Before you ask — quick answers

The questions that reach our inbox most often, answered in one place.

How quickly will you reply to my message?

We aim to answer every email, WhatsApp and form message within one working minutes, Monday to Friday. WhatsApp is usually the fastest channel during the day, while email is best for anything with photos or attachments. Messages sent over the weekend are answered first thing Monday.

Can I visit Stones4Gardens and see the stones in person?

Yes — we're at Unit 1, Fosters Business Park, Old School Rd, Hook RG27 9NY, just off the M3 near Basingstoke. Seeing pebbles in person is the best way to judge colour and size, as every screen shows them a little differently. Drop us a message before you set off so we can make sure someone is free to walk you round.

Can I order samples before buying full bags?

Absolutely — we offer sample bags so you can check the colour and size in your own garden light before committing. It's the option we recommend to anyone deciding between two or three stones.

I have a question about an order I've already placed — what should I include?

Include your order number (it starts with # and is on your confirmation email) and the email address you ordered with. With those two things we can check your order and the courier tracking before we reply, so you get a full answer in one message.

Can you help me work out how much gravel or how many pebbles I need?

Of course — that's what we do all day. The quickest route is our free gravel calculator, which converts your length, width and depth into kilograms and bags. If your space is an awkward shape, send us the measurements (a phone photo with rough dimensions is perfect) and we'll do the maths for you.

How long does delivery take and how much does it cost?

Delivery is free across mainland UK and prices on the site already include it. Orders are hand-packed at our Hook, Hampshire yard and dispatched quickly — most orders arrive on the next business day once shipped. If you need stones for a specific weekend, mention the date in your message and we'll do our best.

Do you work with landscapers, garden designers or trade customers?

Yes — plenty of our regulars are landscapers and designers ordering for client projects. If you have a larger project in mind, email sales@stones4gardens.co.uk with the quantities and timescale and we'll come back with options.

What if I order too much — can I return unopened bags?

Unopened, undamaged bags can be returned in line with our refund policy. If you're unsure about quantities, slightly round up with the calculator — it's far easier than running short mid-project — and send back what you don't open.
